We get the living room back!

For a long time, we had some plants on a table, in our living room. They are vegetable seedlings that are on their way into the garden! It feels so much more spacious in here! Our plants are late going into the garden, but still look promising. Our garden is a big part of our food supply. We do a lot of canning, and salad making. We enjoy our fresh vegetables, like potatoes, beans, and tomatoes! All of us kids have fun when the colorful foods are ready to pick, and we get to pick them. Most of the time everyone always wants to get that job first! We ladies do the canning, and it is a pretty hard job. And very messy! But in the winter, it is nice to be able to have nice ready cans of tomato and pepper sauce stuff to put in our homemade chili! And if you are like my dad and like peppers in your breakfast eggs, there are lots handy. So even if it takes a lot of work with a garden, it is always worth it!
